Abstract
Mostovi su konstrukcije kojima se ostvaruje prijelaz preko postojeće prepreke te njihova gradnja seže daleko u povijest. Prvi mostovi građeni su u obliku priručnih pješačkih mostova izrađenih od drva. Gradnja mostova kroz povijest razvijala se sporo i iskustveno uz brojne greške koje su kao posljedicu imale rušenje cijelog mosta ili dijela konstrukcije. Rušenje mostova može biti uzrokovano ljudskim ili prirodnim faktorom. Ljudski faktor obuhvaća ljudske greške u proračunu, tijekom gradnje, neadekvatno održavanje, sudar automobila ili broda u konstrukciju, požar, ratna zbivanja i marširanje. Prirodne pojave obuhvaćaju poplave, potrese, tornada, eroziju, klizište i vjetar.
Abstract (english)
Bridge is a structure built cross existing obstacles. Their building goes back in time. First bridges were built from wood in the form of pedestrian bridge. Bridge constructions developed slowly and experientially throughout history whit numerous errors that resulted in collapsion of the whole bridge or parts of the structure. The collapse of bridges can be caused by human or natural factors. The human factor includes human errors in design, construction, inadequate maintenance, crash by car or ship into construction, fire, war and marching. Natural phenomena include floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, erosion, landslides and wind.
