In this paper is analyzed the effect of chloride on concrete and the possibility of using fibers to improve the resistance of fiber reinforced concrete to chloride penetration. The mechanism of chloride corrosion and the influence and ways of preventing chloride penetration into concrete are described. In the past three decades, a large number of data has been collected about chloride penetration and their harmful influence to the structure of concrete and corrosion of the rebar. However, it is still intensively working on detecting analytical or experiential relation between certain types of damages and influential parameters. In the experimental part of this study was conducted properties of fresh and hardened fiber reinforced concrete for five different mixtures in the Laboratory for Materials at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Rijeka. Difference between mixtures is ratio of steel fibers and polymer monofilament fibers. On the tested sampes of all mixtures was determined high compressive strength, while tesile strength satisfies strength of ultra high performance concrete. Resistance of concrete samples on chloride penetration was tested by Rapid Chloride Permeability Test (RCPT) according to ASTM C1202 probe.
