Abstract
Ovaj završni rad istražuje refleksiju i uplićavanje valova kroz dva pristupa: fizikalni model i numerički model u MATLAB-u. Fizikalni model koristi plastičnu kutiju (34 x 54 cm), LED svjetla, spužvu za umanjenje refleksije valova na stijenkama bazena, 3D printane modele obale, električni motor za stvaranje valova i digitalni mjerač razine vode u bazenu. Eksperimenti su provedeni za različite tipove obale i tri različita vala. Numerički model programiran u MATLAB-u izračunava plan refrakcije, uplićavanje i refleksiju uz zadavanje koeficijenta refleksije u obalnoj zoni. Cilj rada bio je usporediti rezultate fizikalnih eksperimenata i numeričkih simulacija te analizirati njihovu točnost i efikasnost. Rezultati su pokazali visoku podudarnost, uz razmatranje odstupanja zbog eksperimentalnih ograničenja i aproksimacija primijenjenih u numeričkom modelu. Zaključno, rad istražuje i ukazuje na prednosti i izazove oba pristupa u analizi ponašanja valnog polja uslijed procesa refleksije i uplićavanja.
Abstract (english)
This thesis investigates the phenomena of wave field reflection and shoaling by implementing two approaches: a physical model and a numerical model using MATLAB. The physical model uses a plastic rectangular box (34 x 54 cm), LEDs, a sponge layer to reduce reflections from the box walls, 3D-printed coastal models filled with cement paste, an electric motor with a paddle for generating waves, and a digital water level sensor. Experiments were conducted with different obstacles, indirectly measuring wave height and period. The numerical model in MATLAB calculates refraction patterns, shoaling, and reflection by assigning a reflection coefficient in the coastal zone. The aim was to compare the results from physical experiments with those from numerical simulations and analyze their accuracy and efficiency. The results showed a high level of agreement, considering deviations due to experimental limitations and numerical approximations. In conclusion, this study has highlighted the advantages and challenges of both approaches when analyzing wave field behavior under the reflection and shoaling transformation processes
