Abstract
U Velikoj Britaniji 1960ih godina su prvi put predstavljena pravila za projektiranje kružnih tokova, te se od tada upotrebljavaju i postupno usvajaju u cijelom svijetu. Kružni tokovi su prepoznati kao siguran i učinkovit oblik raskrižja, to osobito dolazi do izražaja na mjestima gdje je protok vozila veći. Opsežna istraživanja su dovela do razvoja modela modernog projektiranja kružnih tokova, kojima je osnovni cilj povećati sigurnost i propusnost. Ideja o mini kružnim tokovima je začeta tijekom 1970ih godina. Mini kružni tokovi se koriste u Velikoj Britaniji u urbanim područjima gdje je prvi izbor raskrižja kružni tok, ako to dozvoljava prostor. Oni obično zamjenjuju postojeća raskrižja. Mini kružni tokovi poput uobičajenih kružnih tokova predstavljaju siguran i učinkovit oblik raskrižja. Nove norme za geometrijsko projektiranje kružnih tokova i mini kružnih tokova su objavljene 2007. godine. Njihova detaljna analiza se nalazi u ovom radu.
Abstract (english)
The modern priority rule for roundabouts was first introduced in the UK during the 1960s and has been in widespread use ever since, gradually being adopted around the world. Roundabouts are recognised as a safe and efficient form of junction, particularly where side road flows are high. Extensive research led to predictive models for both safety and capacity and modern design is based on these relationships. The idea of miniroundabouts was conceived during the 1970s. They are used in the UK in urban areas where a roundabout would be the first choice of junction if space permitted. They usually replace existing priority junctions. Like conventional roundabouts, they are seen as a safe and efficient form of junction. Both capacity and accident predictive relationships have been developed specifically for miniroundabouts. The new standards for the geometric design of roundabouts and miniroundabouts were published in 2007. Details of both standards are given in the paper.
