Abstract
Novinska ilustracija obuhvaća različite oblike slikovnih prikaza, od najjednostavnijih koji se pojavljuju kao nepromjenjivi oblici u novinama (linije i geometrijski oblici), preko simbola i znakova (promijenjivih), grafi kona i dijagrama, tablica, do fotografi ja i klasične ilustracije. Funkcija ilustracija je informativna i dekorativna. Korištenje ilustracija unutar stupaca teksta razbija jednoličan prijelom i čini ga čitljivijim, a grafi čkim pojašnjenjem teksta u članku, ilustracije pomažu razumijevanju tematike. Ilustracija fascinira svojom istovremenom složenošću i jednostavnošću te izravnim načinom komuniciranja. Kultura vizualnog komuniciranja prati razvoj modernog čovjeka kao sustavan dio njegovog načina razmišljanja i viđenja svijeta. Cilj rada je objasniti primjenu osnovnih dizajnerskih principa i elemenata dizajna kroz primjere ilustracije koji se najčešće javljaju u novinama. Osim razrade pojedinih vrsta ilustracije, uvod rada daje kratak povijesni pregled razvoja ilustracije,a rad kao cjelina pokušava dati presjek suvremene novinske ilustracije.
Abstract (english)
Newspaper illustration includes various forms of imagery, from the simplest unchangeable ones like lines and geometrical shapes, to changeable ones like symbols, signs, information graphics and photography. Illustration within the newspapers has two functions - informative and decorative. Using illustratios with text enhances readability and improves understanding of the given topic. The art of illustrating fascinates with it’ s simultaneous complexity and simplicity and ability of direct comunication with it’ s observers. The culture of visual communication follows the development of modern man as a basic part of his way of thinking and understanding the world around him. The goal of this work is to explain implementation of basic design principals and elements of design trough most commonly used newspaper illustrations. Besides explaining different forms of illustration imagery, the work gives a short historical introduction into development of newspaper illustration. As a whole it tries to draw a wider picture of the contemporary newspaper illustration.
