Time-lapse photography is a technique that captures a scene or object that is changing slowly, and turns it into a video with high speed movement. Individual images display only a moment in time, while using time-lapse photography shows the complete scene in a longer period. The theoretical part will describe the historical development of time-lapse photography, photographic techniques and equipment needed. It will also make a comparison of similarities and differences, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of time-lapse photography in relation to a recording video camera. In the experimental part it will be described which equipment was used, what procedure of making time-lapse was used and the results obtained by using different time intervals will be analyzed. The work will prove that photography has a major role in digital media, that making this kind of photography is now easier than before, and has a lot more creative effect. Time-lapse photography is used for commercial purposes or as a means of artistic expression. Since the time-lapse photography is frequently used in artistic expression, part of the work will cover that area.
