The ambition for writing this master's thesis is based on the author's professional wedding photography and videography work. Weddings are probably the most important and the most photogenic events in life that we want to have captured in photographs and videos forever. Given that each wedding is unique and takes place in a certain way, they are best approached as a photo-story. This thesis begins with a brief review of the history and evolution of wedding photography and videography, then explains the use of all required photo and video equipment, which is needed in order to meet all the technical aspects of shooting and recording, as well as the benefits of shooting photographs in RAW format and 4K resolution video recording. In the section on contemporary photography, the author explains how best to use modern technology to achieve uniqueness and develop your own style, and displays the most used programs for post-recorded material. Based on theoretical knowledge in the practical part of the thesis, the author has conducted two surveys. One survey is intended for testing of professional photographers in order to discover the most common problems encountered when recording weddings. Another survey examines potential customers. The thesis will be completed by displaying copyright photographs and a short video clip.
