Abstract
Ljudsko oko može vidjeti vidljivi dio spektra tj. valne duljine od 400 nm do 700 nm. Ispod 400 nm nalaze se UV zrake koje su važne kad ispitujemo fluorescentne materijale. Oko ne može vidjeti UV ili IR valne duljine, ali UV svjetlo može utjecati na izgled tiskanog materijala. Većina papira danas sadrži optička bjelila. Ako se želi ispitati jesu li optička bjelila prisutna u papiru, najbolje je napraviti mjerenje boje s uređajem koji filtrira UV efekt. To je učinjeno pomoću UV filtera u mjernom instrumentu.
