Philosophy
Abstract
ulogu koju igranje video igara ima na ocjene, odnosno opći uspjeh kod učenika. Rad ukratko izlaže i povijest video igara, probleme kod istraživanja utjecaja video igara i opće utjecaje video igara. Zatim, izložena su ranija istraživanja kojim se istraživao utjecaj video igara, a često i ostalih medija, na školski uspjeh učenika. Glavni dio rada je istraživanje koje je provedeno u školama na području Općine Veliki Grđevac, Općine Velika Pisanica, Bjelovara i Virovitice. Rezultati istraživanja uglavnom su u skladu s rezultatima istraživanja iz prethodnog poglavlja, te su uočeni određeni pozitivni utjecaji, poput toga da učenici koji igraju video igre postižu bolji opći uspjeh od učenika koji ih ne igraju, kao i neki negativni utjecaji, poput lošijeg općeg uspjeha kod učenika koji igraju video igre nasilnog sadržaja.
Abstract (english)
The subject of the present research was the effect that playing video games can have on students. The focus is on the role that playing video games can have on school grades and school achievement in general. A history of video games, problems in investigating the effects of video games and the general effects of video games were outlined in the paper. The paper also presents the results of previous research of the impact of video games and often other media on school achievement. The main part of the research was conducted in schools in Veliki Grđevac, Velika Pisanica, Bjelovar and Virovitica. The results are generally as expected considering previous studies, and certain positive influences were observed, such as the fact that students who play video games achieve better overall success when compared to students who do not play games, as well as some negative effects, such as poor general achievement of students who play video games containing violent content.
