Abstract (english) The goal of this study was to determine in what measure the perceived parental behaviour could predict the symptoms of Test and Social anxiety. The study was conducted of 287 high school students who completed measures of Test Anxiety Inventory, Social Interaction Anxiety Scale, Social Phobia Scale, Perceived Parenting Styles Survey and Parental Behaviour Questionnaire. A significant difference between boys and girls was determined within expressed symptoms of Test and Social anxiety. It was observed the higher Test anxiety in girls as opposed to boys and in individuals who perceive their mothers Authoritarian rather than Authoritative. Furthermore, the higher the Intrusiveness and Parental knowledge of the father and the mother, Inductive reasoning of the mother and father and mother Punishment, the higher the Test anxiety scored. In addition, higher Social anxiety is expressed more by girls than boys and by individuals who perceived both parents Authoritarian rather than Authoritative. The less the Warmth, Autonomy and Intrusiveness of the mother and father is the higher Social anxiety scored. Hierarchical regression analysis determined a significant contribution of three predicting blocks (gender, parenting style, dimension of perceived parenting behaviour) within the explained variance of Test and Social anxiety. Significant predictors of Test anxiety were gender, Parental knowledge and Inductive reasoning of the mother, mother's authoritarian parental style, father's Intrusiveness and Parental knowledge. Higher scores in mother's authoritarian parental style, fathers Intrusiveness and Parental knowledge predicted higher Test anxiety. Significant predictors of Social anxiety showed to be Punishment of the father, gender and Autonomy of the mother. The higher the Punishment of the father is the higher Social anxiety is. Girls exhibit higher Social anxiety than boys. Higher Autonomy of the mother is linked to lower Social anxiety.
