Abstract
Računalne igre su se pojavile u prvoj polovici 50-ih godina 20. stoljeća. Pojam računalnih igara mnogi povezuju s negativnim konotacijama poput gubljenja vremena, zanemarivanja obaveza, zaostalost pri socijalnom razvoju, štetnost fizičkom zdravlju itd. Naravno da računalne igre imaju svoje negativne strane, no unatoč tomu one danas imaju svoje mjesto u popularnoj kulturi kao nešto drugačije, nešto što je nadišlo svoju primarnu svrhu, nešto što prema brojnim istraživanjima ima više pozitivnih posljedica nego onih negativnih.
