Gastronomy has always been a part of a human and an existential need in human's everyday life to function normally. With the years of development of human and the world around him, such a connection has reached the level of a phenomenon and a new form of culture that individuals consider a new kind of art and science because of the many elements needed to create a superior gastronomic experience. Also, experts of that field are highly valued for the many knowledge and skills they must possess in order to be successful. Unlike the new media, gastronomy did not develop rapidly, but gradually followed human progress and growth. However, with the advent of new media and their accelerated progress, the popularity of gastronomy also grew. Thanks to them, and especially to social networks that are extremely popular with young people, there is a greater interest in gastronomy. For that reason, this paper was based on the analysis of gastronomy and new media, both in the world and in Croatia, and the research of the connection between social networks and Croatian gastronomic content among young people. Also, the research was based on the influence of social networks on the use of Croatian gastronomic content, which would greatly help in understanding young people and their way of searching and using this type of content.
