Abstract
Početna točka i cilj ovog rada bio je steći uvid u emocionalnu regulaciju i kontrolu te obrambene mehanizme osoba koje boluju od hipertenzije te ustvrditi prediktivnu snagu navedenih konstrukata u otpornosti na stres. Istraživanje je provedeno na 39 pacijenata koji boluju od hipertenzije prosječne dobi 48.5 godina. Instrumenti koji su primijenjeni u ovom istraživanju su Upitnik emocionalne regulacije i kontrole ERIK (Takšić, 2003), Upitnik obrambenih stilova DSQ-40 (Andrews, Singh i Bond, 1993) i Kratka skala otpornosti (Slišković i Burić, 2018). Mjerene su još i demografske varijable poput dobi, spola, bračnog i radnog statusa te zdravstvenih navika. Rezultati pokazuju kako je najčešće korišteni obrambeni mehanizam racionalizacija, te kako su je više korištenje nezrelog obrambenog stila značajno povezano s nižom emocionalnom regulacijom i kontrolom (r=.61**). Emocionalna regulacija i kontrola visoko je povezana s otpornosti na stres (β= -.45*) te predstavlja statistički značajan prediktor otpornosti na stres, gdje objašnjava 36.9% zajedničke varijance otpornosti na stres, dok kombinacija emocionalne regulacije i kontrole s obrambenim mehanizmima objašnjava 43.1% ukupne varijance. Obrambeni mehanizmi nisu se pokazali kao statistički značajni prediktori (p>.05) dok je korelacija otpornosti na stres i nezrelog obrambenog stila pokazala statističku značajnost (r=-.44**). Implikacije istraživanja korisne su kako za praktični, tako i za znanstveni dio razumijevanja procesa nastanka stresa i njegove otpornosti kod pacijenata s hipertenzijom. emocionalna regulacija i kontrola, obrambeni mehanizmi, otpornost na stres, hipertenzija
Abstract (english)
The starting point and the aim of this paper was to gain insight into the emocionaln regulation and control and defense mechanisms among people suffering from hypertension and also to establish the predictive role of these constructs in stress resilience. The study was conducted on 39 patients suffering from hypertension (mean age= 48.5 years). The instruments used in this research are ERIK- Emotional regulation and control Questionare (Takšić, 2003), Defense Styles Questionnaire- DSQ-40 (Andrews, Singh and Bond, 1993) and the Short Resilience Scale (Slišković and Burić, 2018). Demographic variables such as age, gender, martial and employment status, health habits were also measured. The results show that the most commonly used defense mechanism is rationalization, and that more use of immature defense style is significantly associated with lower emotional regulation and control (r=.61*). Emotional regulation and control is highly related to stress resilence (β= -.45*) and is statistically significant predictor of stress resilience, where it explains 36.9% of the total variance of stress resilience, while in combination with defense mechanisms explains 43.1% of total variance. Defense mechanisms did not prove to be statistically significant predictors (p>.05) while the correlation between stress resilience and immature defense style showed statistical significance (r=-.44**). The implications of the research are useful for both the practical and the scientific parto f understanding the process of stress and its resilence in patients with hypertension.
