Over the last few decades, professional burnout has received increasing attention among researchers due to the negative impact that burnout has on employees and organizations. The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between dimensions of burnout at work, sociodemographic characteristics of employees, workplace characteristics, emotional wellbeing and new ways of working, and determine the possibility of prediction of burnout based on these variables. The sample consisted of 109 employees aged from 21 to 35 years who participated in an online questionnaire composed of a questionnaire of sociodemographic characteristics, job characteristics, job related affective well-being, new ways of working and burnout syndrome. The results showed that disengagement at work will be experienced to a lesser extent by employees with higher monthly income, who work more often from home, who are managers, who experience more positive and less negative emotions at work and have more control over time, location, work content and communication at work. Exhaustion at work will be less often experienced by employees who experience more positive and less negative emotions at work and have more control over location, content and communication at work. Hierarchical regression analysis found that sociodemographic characteristics, job characteristics, emotional well-being at work and new ways of working together explain 66,8% of the variance of disengagement and 50,1% of the variance of exhaustion. Results are in line with expectations. Despite limitations, the results offer additional confirmation of relationship between constructs and gives a framework for future research on this topic among Croatian employees.
