Abstract
Suvremene su tehnologije i nove mogućnosti interneta imale veliki utjecaj na odrastanje novijih generacija, pri čemu većina svoje vrijeme provodi i u virtualnom i u stvarnom svijetu. Prekomjerna je konzumacija društvenih mreža omogućila adolescentima uvid u svijet i probleme s kojima se nose odrasli, što je dovelo do mijenjanja procesa adolescencije, a u isti mah i utjecalo na povećanje mentalnih problema, točnije, pojave depresije i anksioznosti među mladima. Nedovoljno poznavanje interneta i njegovih mogućnosti prisililo je adolescente da se sami nose s negativnim utjecajima koje društvene mreže mogu imati na njih, a samim je time i stvorilo generaciju koja ovisi o svojim elektroničkim uređajima. Zbog povećanja mentalnih problema kod adolescenata posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća, provedena su određena istraživanja kako bi se dokazalo koliko i na koji način društvene mreže utječu na mentalno zdravlje adolescenata.
Abstract (english)
Growing up with modern technologies and the advances of the Internet, the new generations definitely have a different childhood. That is mostly because they spend time both in the virtual and the real world. Overusage of social media has opened the door to adolescents to the world and the problems that grownups deal with, which consequently influences their childhood and leads to the rise of mental health problems (mainly depression and anxiety). Insufficient knowledge of the possibilities of the Internet forces adolescents to cope with the negative influences of social media, while creating a generation dependent on electronics. Since there has been an increase in mental health problems with adolescents, some research has been conducted to show the influences of social media on mental health of adolescents.
