Abstract
Cilj rada bio je ispitati psihosocijalnu prilagodbu osoba na život u domu za starije i nemoćne. U istraživanju su sudjelovale osobe koje borave u domu za starije i nemoćne i osobe koje su uključene u Gerontološki centar. Sudionici su bili podijeljeni u dvije skupine. Prvu skupinu čine 64 sudionika iz doma za starije i nemoćne, podijeljenu u dvije podskupine, na sudionike koji borave u domu do godinu dana i sudionike koji borave u domu više od godinu dana. Drugu skupinu čine 58 sudionika koji su uključeni u Gerontološki centar. Za potrebe istraživanja proveden je strukturiran intervju u kojem su korištena četiri mjerna instrumenta kojima se utvrđivao stres, socijalni kontakti, socijalne aktivnosti i zadovoljstvo životom. Rezultati su pokazali da postoji značajna povezanost između zadovoljstva životom i socijalnih kontakata te aktivnosti i kontakata kod obje skupine. Utvrđena je značajna povezanost socijalnih kontakata i aktivnosti kod žena u domu za starije i nemoćne. Žene koje su nezadovoljnije socijalnim kontaktima manje su uključene u aktivnosti. Nije utvrđen statistički značajan efekt interakcije spola i dužine boravka u domu za starije i nemoćne. Utvrđen je glavni efekt varijable spol. Muškarci su manje uključeni u socijalne aktivnosti od žena u domu za starije i nemoćne.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this study was to examine psychosocial adaptation of persons to a retirement home. In the research participated persons who are in a retirement home and persons that are included in the Gerontology center. Participants were divided into two groups. The first group includes 64 participants in a retirement home, divided into two subgroups, participants who are in a retirement home less than a year, and participants who are in a retirement home more than a year. The second group includes 58 persons who are included in the Gerontological center. A structured interview was conducted in which four measuring instruments were used to determine stress, social contacts, social activites and life satisfaction. The results showed a significant correlation between life satisfaction and social contacts and between social activities and contacts in both groups. There is a significant correlation between social contacts and activities among women in a retirement home. Women who are less satisfied with social contacts are less involved in activities. The results did not show a significant statistical interaction between gender and lenght of stay in a retirement home. There is a significant main effect of variable gender. Men are less involved in social activities than women in a retirement home.
