Abstract
Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje renesansno poimanje ljubavi i ljepote u filozofskoj misli Nikole Vitova Gučetića. Kao veliki dubrovački intelektualac, Gučetić je svojim djelima, a ponajviše Dijalozima o ljubavi i Dijalozima o ljepoti te predgovorom djela (koji potpisuje njegova supruga Maruša Gundulić) Razgovori o Aristotelovoj »Meteorologici«, učinio značajan pomak u emancipaciji žena, koje su često kroz talijanske renesansne ljubavne traktate bile u središtu interesa. Kako se sama tema ljubavi i ljepote usko veže uz pojam žene, ovaj se rad kroz prva dva poglavlja bavi njenim poimanjem i društvenim statusom od antike, srednjeg vijeka pa sve do renesanse. Potonje je za ovu temu bilo neophodno obraditi, imajući na umu da Gučetićevo stvaralaštvo predstavlja jedan renesansni sinkretizam Platona, Aristotela, Plotina, ali i kršćanskih otaca i pjesnika poput Dantea ili Petrarke, od kojih su u navedenim poglavljima neke misli i istaknute. Nadalje, kroz cijeli se rad protežu i stajališta mizogine tradicije, koja je unatoč svom vrhuncu u renesansi, probudila interes i za onu žensku, čiji je u hrvatskog podneblju najpoznatiji i vrlo hrabar aktivni pobornik bio upravo Nikola Vitov Gučetić.
Abstract (english)
This thesis investigates the Renaissance conception of love and beauty in the philosophical thought of Nikola Vitov Gučetić. As a great Dubrovnik intellectual, Gučetić made a significant contribution to the emancipation of women, who were often the focus of attention in Italian Renaissance love treatises, with his works, most notably Dialogues on Love, Dialogues on Beauty and the Preface (signed by his wife Maruša Gučetić) to Aristotle's Meteorology. As the very theme of love and beauty is closely linked to the concept of woman, this work deals with her understanding and social status from Antique, the Middle Ages to the Renaissance in the first two chapters. The latter was essential to address this topic, bearing in mind that Gučetić work represents a Renaissance syncretism of Plato, Aristotle, Plotinus, but also Christian fathers and poets such as Dante or Petrarch, from whom some thoughts are highlighted in the aforementioned chapters. Furthermore, throughout the entire work, the views of the misogynistic tradition also extend, which, despite its peak in the Renaissance, parallelly beyond male history, aroused interest in the female one, whose most famous and very brave active supporter in the Croatian environment was Nikola Vitov Gučetić.
