The subject of minorities is often mentioned in the media as well in the social work. The paper will present several types of minorities and for each of the selected minority we will mention the positive and negative characteristics that are the effect of the social process. In this paper, we will try to define the concept of minorities in the Republic of Croatia, with regard to legal documents. It should be noted that the neglect of integration of minorities leads to inequality of members of minorities and to frequent clashes with the major society. From related topics and used research and literature in this paper, we can see that is necessary to synchronize the rights of minorities, which were written in the legal documents, and to achieve these same rights in practice. It can be said that most of the rights of minorities were only written on paper, that society is still full of prejudice and discrimination, and in some cases with violence to which the state institutions should react with changes in the school system and educating citizens about different cultures.
