Abstract
Temeljni cilj ovog diplomskog rada bio je analizirati rodne aspekte ženskog tenisa kroz dvije studije slučaja (casestudy). Prvi slučaj tiče se „muško-ženskog“ meča između Billie Jean King i Bobby Riggsa, koji je bio uvod u početak borbe za ženska prava u tenisu. Drugi slučaj je onaj iz 2018. kada je na finalu US Opena Sereni Williams oduzeto nekoliko poena zbog ponašanja koje se obično muškim tenisačima tolerira. Jednako tako, cilj rada bio je ukazati na rodnu neravnopravnosti i nisku popraćenost ženskog sporta kroz povijest, osvijestiti populaciju na njihovu prisutnost u sportu i društvu te ukazati na zajedništvo u borbi protiv različitih oblika diskriminacije. Žene u sportu se tretiraju drugačije od muškaraca što otvara različita pitanja na koja je potrebno dati odgovor.
Abstract (english)
The basic goal of this thesis was to analyze the gender aspects of women's tennis through two case studies. The first case concerns a "male-female" match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs, which was the prelude to the beginning of the fight for women's rights in tennis. The second case is the one from 2018 when in the US Open final Serena Williams was deprived of several points due to the behaviour that is usually tolerated by male tennis players. Equally, the aim of the paper was to point out gender inequalities and low coverage of women's sports throughout history, to make the population aware of their presence in sports and society and to point out unity in the fight against various forms of discrimination. Women in sports are treated differently than men, which raises various questions that need to be answered.
