Abstract Cilj ovoga rada je prikazati jogu kao dio sportske rekreacije s naglaskom na pozitivno djelovanje joge na sniţavanje razine stresa. Suvremeni ĉovjek ţivi uţurbanim ţivotom koji najĉešće dovodi do lošeg raspoloţenja, anksioznosti te naposljetku i do depresije. U ovom radu prikazani su znanstveno dokazani, pozitivni uĉinci djelovanja joge i vjeţbi disanja na ĉovjeka. Primjenom joge i vjeţbama disanja dolazi do izgradnje snage, kako na fiziĉkoj razini, tako i na mentalnoj razini što posljediĉno dovodi do pronalaska unutarnjeg mira. U radu je opisan proces disanja i znaĉaj pravilnog disanja kao i znaĉaj pravilne posture na koje se moţe utjecati napisanim programom vjeţbanja u smislu korekcije ili prevencije bilo kakvih nepravilnosti. Opisan je kratak povijesni pregled nastanka joge u svijetu i u Hrvatskoj, pojašnjeni su osnovni pojmovi koji se koriste u praksi joge, navedeni su razliĉiti stilovi joge te je naveden i program vjeţbanja koji se sastoji od slijeda poloţaja (asana) te vjeţbi disanja (pranayama), prikazane su i naprednije verzije asana za iskusnije vjeţbaĉe. Mnogobrojni pozitivni uĉinci na ĉovjekovo psihofiziĉko zdravlje postiţu se tek redovitom joga praksom. Njena vrijednost dolazi sve više do izraţaja i zbog toga je danas joga sve popularnija kao sadrţaj sportske rekreacije, koristi se ĉak i u terapijske svrhe.
Abstract (english) The aim of this thesis is to present yoga as part of sports recreation with an emphasis on the positive effects of yoga on lowering stress levels. Modern man lives a hectic life that often leads to bad mood, anxiety and ultimately depression. This thesis presents the scientifically proven, positive effects of yoga and breathing exercises on humans. Yoga practice and breathing exercises are building strength, on physicaly and mentaly, which leads to the discovery of inner peace. The thesis describes the process of breathing and the importance of proper breathing as well as the importance of proper posture that can be influenced by a exercise program, that is written in this thesis, in terms of correction or prevention of any irregularities. A brief of historical overview of the origins of yoga in the world and in Croatia is described, the basic terms used in yoga practice are explained, different styles of yoga are listed and an exercise program is written that includes a sequence of positions (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama), there are also written advanced versions of asanas for more experienced practitioners. Many positive effects on a person's psychophysical health are achieved only through regular yoga practice. Its value is becoming more and more pronounced and that is why yoga is becoming more and more popular today as the content of sports recreation, it is even used for therapeutic purposes.
