Abstract (english) The aim of this research is to investigate the difference in the degree of burnout, strategies for dealing with stress and job satisfaction between coaches of children athletes in team and individual sports and and the contribution of coping with stress and job satisfaction in explaining the symptoms of burnout. The sample consists of 102 trainers, 61.8% male and 38.2% female. To assess burnout, the croatian version of the Coach Burnout Questionnaire (CBQ) was used (Malinauskas, Malinauskiene, and Dumciene, 2010). The MOAQ-JSS questionnaire (Michigan Organizational Assessment Questionnaire) was used to assess job satisfaction (Cammann, Fichman, Jenkins, Klesh, 1983), while coping with stress was assessed with the coping with stress scale (Buško, 2007). The results indicate that there is a significant difference with respect to sport only in job satisfaction, with individual sports coaches showing greater satisfaction with coaching work than team coaches. Differences by gender were found in the devaluation of sports, emotional/physical exhaustion where coaches report more symptoms, and in passivation as a coping strategy that female coaches use more often than male coaches. Regression analysis revealed that among male and female coaches of this sample job satisfaction significantly negatively affects all dimensions of burnout. Fatalism and religion significantly negatively contribute to the explanation of the reduced sense of success and emotional/physical exhaustion. Planning as a passive coping strategy is a positive predictor of emotional/physical exhaustion. Active adaptation negatively affects the devaluation of sports, while reinterpretation contributes to devaluation.
