Abstract | Istražili smo povezanost snage udisajnih mišića s parametrima plućne funkcije u mirovanju te metaboličkim i kardiopulmološkim parametrima tijekom progresivnog testa opterećenja. |
Abstract (english) | We investigated relation of inspiratory muscle strength with parameters of lung function during rest and metabolic and cardiopulmonary parameters during progressive exercise stress testing. Sixty four healthy athletes (age:22,4±4,6years; body mass:84,9±10,3 kg; body height:187,9±10,3 cm) competing in high intensity sports performed spirometry, inspiratory muscle strength test and a progressive cardiopulmonary exercise test. No associations between inspiratory muscle strength (PImax) and breathing rate at the anaerobic treshold (BRanp; r=-0,17; p=,179), maximal breathing rate (BRmax; r=-0,08; p=,541), heart rate at the anaerobic treshold (HRanp; r=0,06; p=,662), maximal heart rate (HRmax; r=0,1; p=,421), oxygen consumption at the anaerobic treshold (VO2anp; r=0,18; p=,146), relative oxygen consumption at the anaerobic treshold (VO2ranp; r=0,03; p=,843), maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max; r=0,15; p=,240), maximal relative oxygen consumption (VO2rmax; r=-0,01; p=,919), forced expiratory volume in first second (FEV1; r=0,11; p=,383) and peak expiratory flow in one second (PEF; r=0,06; p=,663) were noted. This suggests that inspiratory muscle strength probably does not influence parameters of aerobic endurance during a short progressive cardiopulmonary exercise test in athletes competing in high intensity sports. |
