Abstract
Rak debelog crijeva je značajan javno zdravstveni problem u Hrvatskoj i svijetu. Istraživanja pokazuju da kod tjelesno aktivnih osoba postoji manji rizik za oboljenje od ranije navedene bolesti u odnosu na tjelesno neaktivne osobe. S obzirom na nedostatak literature na hrvatskom jeziku u kojoj je sistematično opisana uloga tjelesne aktivnosti u prevenciji raka debelog crijeva, cilj ovog rada je sistematizirati dosadašnje spoznaje o utjecaju tjelesne aktivnosti u prevenciji raka debelog crijeva uključujući njen javno zdravstveni utjecaj, biološke mehanizme djelovanja i preporuke za aktivnost u primarnoj i sekundarnoj prevenciji. Tjelesna neaktivnost i sedentarni način života su globalni javno zdravstveni problemi 21. stoljeća koji se trebaju pokušati ublažiti sustavnom edukacijom i promocijom o zdravstvenim dobrobitima tjelesne aktivnosti i vježbanja.
Abstract (english)
Colon cancer is a significant public health problem in Croatia and the world. Studies show that in physically active people there is a lower risk of colon cancer compared to the physically inactive people. Given the lack of Croatian language literature in which the role of physical activity in the prevention of colon cancer is systematically described, the aim of this study is to systematize the current understanding of the impact of physical activity on the prevention of colon cancer including its public health impact, biomedical mechanisms of action and recommendations for primary and secondary prevention. Physical inactivity and sedentary lifestyle are the global public health problems of the 21st century that need to be reduced through systematic education and promotion of the health benefits of physical activity and exercise.
