The period of childhood is crucial in developing a rich and functional neural network because children learn from the whole context of life. One of the essential elements of a child's development is certainly play, which stimulates the brain and helps the child explore the world (Vučinić, 2019). Everyday play creates a rich palette of possibilities that affects the networking of neurons, therefore it is necessary that educators are familiar with research in this area in order to monitor the development of preschool children as adequately as possible (Miočić-Stošić and Lončarić, 2012). "Playing therefore does not only have the purpose of filling time, but also means much more: it builds the foundation for later learning at school. All the senses are stimulated in the game" (Baureis and Wagenmann, 2015). The aim of this paper is to present an analysis of the application of NTC learning system tests in preschool age children in Slavonija and to determine the difference according to gender. On a sample of 103 children, of whom 55 were boys and 48 were girls, aged three to eight, three tests were applied to assess motor skills and the development of fine motor skills in children: tests with fingers, tying shoelaces and catching a ball. A significant difference was found in two out of three tests used to assess motor skills and the development of fine motor skills. The obtained results correspond to previous research where the same or similar values were obtained.
