The hip is a ball-and-socket joint located between the pelvis and the femur. It is located right between the top of the femur (thigh bone) and the acetabulum. Around the hip are ligaments, tendons and muscles that provide stability to the hip. Each muscle has its own role in providing stability to the joint at rest and in motion to enable smooth movements without much effort. Hip impingement syndrome is one of the most common pathologies in recent times. It is a type of injury that describes an improper way of hip movement that ultimately leads to impingement. It happens when the bones of the acetabulum and femur (thigh bone) get in contact. Bone contact can occur due to inactivity of the appropriate musculature that provides hip stability or due to developed bony deformation of the type: cam, pincer or both. Proper functioning of the hip without pain is necessary for a normal life. In sports it enables smooth functioning even during high-intensity activities. Diagnostic tests are used to diagnose hip impingement syndrome. Pathologies in the hips need to be detected and solved in time. Hip impingement syndrome can be solved with a proper rehabilitation process through kinesitherapy exercises or arthroscopic surgery. In this paper it will be presented the detailed approach of two authors who proved the success of the non-operative method and wrote kinesitherapy through a list of rehabilitation exercises which will be presented by image visualisation.
