Abstract | U ovom radu provedena je spektrofotometrijska analiza morskog sedimenta Dubrovačkog akvatorija u cilju određivanja koncentracije devet ekotoksičnih metala (Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, As, Hg, Cd i Pb). Korištene su tri metode plamene atomske apsorpcijske spektroskopije (AAS): plamena AAS s mješavinom plinova komprimiranog zraka i acetilena (Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu i Zn), metoda plamene AAS redukcijom do elemenata (As i Hg) te metoda plamene AAS s direktnim spaljivanjem u niklovanim posudicama, tj. ''lađicama'' (Cd i Pb). |
Abstract (english) | This paper has conducted a spectrophotometric analysis of marine sediment in the Dubrovnik aquatory to determine the concentration of nine ecotoxic metals (Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, As, Hg, Cd and Pb). Three methods of flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) were used: flame AAS with a mixture of compressed air and acetylene (Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu and Zn), flame AAS with reduction to elements (As and Hg), and flame AAS with a direct incineration in nickeled ''boats'' (Cd and Pb). All analysed metals can implement themselves in different biochemical processes of people, animals or plants and thus unable their normal biological functions. Samples of the marine sediment were gathered from five locations, Petka, Uvala, JK Orsan, Marina RD and the spring of river Ombla as a reference sample, at depths of 5,00 cm and 10,00 cm, and the concentrations varied: Cu – 24,30 ppm -135,00 ppm; Mn – 71,70 ppm - 198,00 ppm; Fe – 8 660 ppm - 20 400 ppm; Cu – 19,30 ppm - 118,00 ppm; Zn – 28,40 ppm - 124,00 ppm; As – <0,20 ppm - 10,10 ppm; Hg - <0,10 ppm - 3,20 ppm; Cd – were under the lower sensitivity limit of the method, <0,50 ppm; Pb – <4,00 ppm - 61,30 ppm. All obtained concentrations are inside the permissible limits determined by the Regulation of water quality standard (NN 73/2013) and do not represent a threat for human health. |
