Abstract
Medij je poruka, rečenica je koju je davno izrekao Marshall McLuhan, a koja je uvelike obiljeţila kasnije promatranje medija, sredstva koje više ne sluţi isključivo za prenošenje informacija, koje je samo po sebi poruka i koje se često upotrebljava u svrhu kreiranja javnoga mnijenja. Upravo je to razlog zbog kojega oduvijek postoji ogromna teţnja za kontrolom medija. Doziranje informacija, za koje se više ne moţe govoriti da su objektivne, nuţno utječe na stavove javnosti, što nepobitno vodi u kontrolu društva. Upravo je medijska kontrola društva tema ovoga diplomskoga rada, u kojemu se putem raznih teoretičara, filozofa i sociologa pokušava odgonetnuti kada su mediji prestali biti puko sredstvo prenošenja informacija (i jesu li to uopće ikada bili) te kako su postali glavna sredstva manipulacije vladajućih struktura.
Abstract (english)
The medium is the message, the sentence which was handed down long ago by Marshall McLuhan means that media no longer serve exclusively for the transmission of information, which in itself is a message, and that they are often used for the purpose of creating public opinion. This is precisely the reason why there is always a huge aspiration to control the media. Dosage of information, which are no longer objective, necessarily affects the attitudes of the public, which undeniably leads to control of the society. That is precisely the topic of this diploma thesis, in which with help of various theorists, philosophers and sociologists we have tried to figure out when the media stopped being merely a means of conveying information (if ever) and became the main means of manipulation by the ruling power structures.
