Abstract
Zavičajne zbirke čine mali postotak ukupnog fonda narodnih knjižnica, no nesumnjivo su njihov najvrjedniji dio. Izvorna, stara i rijetka izdanja mnogih djela još uvijek stoje prašnjava na nekoj zabačenoj polici ili u ormaru. Srećom, percepcija knjižnica se mijenja, a s njom i pogled samih knjižničara na njihovu ulogu pružatelja informacija, upotpunjenu onom promicatelja baštine. U ovom će radu biti opisan razvoj Gradske knjižnice Požega i njoj pripadajuće zbirke Possegana. Najviše će riječi biti o razdoblju druge polovice 19. i prve polovice 20. stoljeća, kada je bilo najsnažnije djelovanje zavičajnika Franje Cirakija, Julija Kempfa i Zlate Kolarić-Kišur.Njihove ostavštine nalazimo upravo u Possegani.
Abstract (english)
Heritage collections make a small percentage of the public libraries'complete fund but they are nonetheless their most valuable part. Original, old and rare editions of many works are still standing full of dust on some remote shelf. Fortunately, the perception of libraries is changing, and the view of librarians on their role as information provider is being enriched by their role of heritage promoters. In this work, we will describe the development of the City Library Požega and its collection Possegana. We will mostly deal with the period of the second half of the 19th century and the first half of 20th century, when the significant persons Franjo Ciraki, Julije Kempf and Zlata Kolarić-Kišur, from our area, had the strongest activity. Their legacy is found precisely in Possegana.
