Abstract
Jedan od glavnih problema sa kojima se nastavnici susreću u svom radu je manjak motivacije kod učenika. Taj je problem najizraženiji kada je u pitanju matematika jer njezino učenje zahtijeva kontinuiran rad i razumijevanje. Demotiviranim učenicima to predstavlja prevelik napor, pa jednostavno zanemariju matematiku što na kraju rezultira neusvojenim znanjem i lošim ocjenama. U ovom radu su dani savjeti za povećanje motivacije i sprječavanje demotivacije učenika na nastavi matematike te je istaknuta uloga nastavnika kao jednog od osnovnih izvora učeničke motivacije. Navedeni načini motiviranja učenika su bazirani na razvijanju intrinzične motivacije koja traje duže i daje kvalitetnije rezultate od ekstrinzične motivacije. Zbog različitih utjecaja tih dviju vrsta motivacije na učenje matematike provedena je i anketa kojoj je bio cilj utvrditi je li više učenika motivirano intrinzično ili ekstrinzično za matematiku, a čiji su rezultati analizirani u ovom radu.
Abstract (english)
One of the main problems that teachers face in their work is the lack of students’ motivation. This problem is most prominent when it comes to mathematics because its learning requires continuous work and understanding. This requires a lot of effort, which is too much for unmotivated students to handle. As a result, they often neglect learning mathematics and eventually end up having bad grades and incomplete knowledge. This paper offers advice on how to increase students’ motivation and avoid demotivation of students in class. Besides that, teacher’s role as one of the main sources of student’s motivation is emphasized. The methods of motivating students are based on stimulating intrinsic motivation which lasts longer and gives better results than extrinsic motivation. A survey, whose results were analysed in this paper, was conducted to determine whether more students were motivated intrinsically or extrinsically due to the different influence of these two types of motivation on learning mathematics.
