Abstract Zrak je nevidljiva plinovita smjesa koja okružuje Zemlju i nužan uvijet života. Onečišćenje zraka podrazumijeva prisutnost jedne ili više tvari u zraku, u koncentracijama koje mogu biti rizične po zdravlje ljudi i okoliša. Glavna zagađivala i onečišćivala su čestice teških metala, lebdeće čestice raspršene u zraku, troposferski ozon, oksidi ugljika, sumpora, dušika itd. Kvalitetu zraka određuju koncentracija i vrsta onečišćenja, koje se utvrđuju mjerenjem čestica, SOx, NOx, CO... Dušikovi oksidi su niz spojeva kisika i dušika kojima je opća formula NOx. Nastanak dušikovih oksida uglavnom je prouzročen pri sagorijevanju u prometnom i energetskom sektoru, a neki od većih izvora emisije su cestovni promet i strojevi, grijanje i proizvodnja električne energije, građevinarstvo i prerađivačka industrija. Oni su jedna od glavnih komponenti zagađenja atmosfere. Lebdeće čestice su zbroj svih krutih i tekućih čestica suspendiranih u zraku od kojih su mnoge opasne. Lebdeće čestice se, kao i prizemni ozon, svrstavaju među najštetnije onečišćujuće tvari po zdravlje čovjeka. Izlaganje ovim onečišćivačima tijekom najviše koncentracije, kao i dugotrajnija izloženost, mogu prouzročiti narušavanje dišnog sustava ili čak preuranjenu smrti. Cestovni promet se sastoji od sudionika u prometu koji se kreću javnim putem u svrhu putovanja. Promet, posebice motorna vozila, uzrokuju mnoge vrste štetnih utjecaja na nas i našu okolinu. Glavne opasnisti su klimatske promjene, pogoršanje kakvoće zraka i buka. Cilj ovog istraživanja je usporediti intenzitet prometa s kvalitetom zraka u ljeto 2017.-2018. u Osijeku. Mjerenja su vršena standardnim metodama za mjerenje koncentracije dušikova oksida i lebdećih čestica iz vanjskog zraka.
Na temelju provedenog istraživanja zaključili smo kako ne postoji značajne povezanosti između prometa i onečišćavala NOx-a i PM10 te predlažemo uspostavu nove lokacije mjerne postaje za kvalitetu zraka u Osijeku. Istraživanje bi se trebalo ponoviti nakon uspostave nove mjerne postaje za kvalitetu zraka. Potrebno je podrobnije ispitati vezu prometa i onečišćivala PM10 i NOx na području Osijeka te svakako uzeti u obzir i ostale čimbenike koji mogu utjecati na koncentracije lebdećih čestica i dušikovih oksida.
Abstract (english) Air is an invisible gas mixture that surrounds the Earth and a necessary condition of life. Air pollution involves the presence of one or more substances in the air, at concentrations that can be hazardous to human and environmental health. The major pollutants are heavy metal particles, suspended air particles, tropospheric ozone, carbon, sulphur, nitrogen oxides, etc. The air quality is determined by the concentration and type of pollution by measurement of SOx, NOx, CO... Nitrogen oxides are a series oxygen and nitrogen compounds to which the general formula is NOx. The formation of nitrogen oxides is mainly caused by combustion in the transport and energy sectors, and the things that have the biggest influence are road transport and machinery, heating and electricity generation, construction and manufacturing. Particulate matter is dangerous because it is made of mixture of particles from liquids and solids, suspended in the air. Exposure to these pollutants during the highest concentration, as well as prolonged exposure, can cause respiratory distress or even premature death. Road traffic is made up of road users traveling publicly for the purpose of traveling. Traffic, especially motor vehicles, causes many kinds of adverse effects on us and our environment. The main hazards are climate change, deterioration of air quality and noise. The goal of this study is to compare traffic intensity with air quality in the summer of 2017-2018. in Osijek. Measurements were made by standard methods for measuring the concentration of nitrogen ni oxides and particulate matter from ambient air.
Based on the conducted research, we concluded that there isn’t any notable connection between traffic and pollutants of NOx and PM10 and propose the establishment of a new location for the air quality measuring station in Osijek. The study should be repeated after the establishment of a new air quality measuring station. The connection between PM10 and NOx traffic and pollutants in the Osijek area needs to be more closely examined, and other factors that may affect the concentrations of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides should be considered.
