Abstract
Antibiotici su lijekovi korišteni u svrhu liječenja bakterijske infekcije. Najčešća stanja u parodontologiji koja zahtjevaju terapiju antibioticima su hitna stanja. Osim nekrotizirajućih pardontnih bolesti, parodontnih apscesa, terapije periimplantitsa i parodontitisa kojima mehanička terapija nije dovoljna za kontrolu bolesti, antibiotici imaju profilaktičku primjenu kod rizičnih pacijenata. Liječenje infekcija uzrokovanih parodontopatogenim bakterijama uz mehaničku terapiju uz pravu indikaciju nekad uključuje primjenu lokalnih ili sistemskih antibiotika. Odabir antibiotika i način primjene u terapiji parodontnih i periimplantnih stanja ovisi o etiologiji infekcije i pravilnoj indikaciji za njihovu upotrebu
Abstract (english)
Antibiotics are medicines used to treat a bacterial infection. The most common conditions in periodontology that require antibiotic therapy are emergency conditions. In addition to necrotizing periodontal disease,periodontal abscesses,periimplantitis therapy,and periodontitis which are not sufficiently controlled by mechanical therapy,antibiotics have also prophylactic use at risk patients. The treatment of infections caused by periodontopathogenic bacteria with mechanical therapy sometimes with the proper indication involves the use of topical or systemic antibiotics. The choice of antibiotics and method of administration in the treatment of periodontal and periimplant conditions depends on the etiology of the infection and the proper indication for their use
