Unatoč napretku u prevenciji i liječenju, ozljede koljena i dalje ostaju značajan problem u nogometu.
Abstract (english) Knee injuries are a common occurrence among elite football players, posing a significant burden for both the players themselves and their clubs. Ligament ruptures such as the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL), as well as meniscus injuries are particularly prevalent, often resulting in prolonged career breaks or reduced athletic performance. These injuries frequently occur during high-intensity situations such as matches or intense training sessions, where rapid changes in direction, sudden decelerations, or contact with other players can lead to injuries. Diagnosis of these injuries requires a series of specific clinical tests and radiological examinations such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to precisely determine the nature and extent of the injury. Surgical intervention, such as ligament reconstruction or meniscectomy, is often necessary for successful treatment, especially for more severe injuries. However, a key component in managing these injuries is prevention. Programs such as FIFA 11+ have been developed with the aim of reducing the risk of injuries through structured warm-up exercises focused on improving stability, proprioception, and muscle strength, thereby better preparing players for the challenges on the field. These programs have shown excellent results in reducing the incidence of injuries and can be crucial for maintaining long-term athletic performance. Despite advances in prevention and treatment, knee injuries remain a significant problem in football. Therefore, it is important to continue researching and implementing innovative approaches to reduce their impact on the health and performance of football players.
