Abstract
Ugradnja sustava mehaničke potpore radu srca sve je važnija terapijska mogućnost za bolesnike oboljele od zatajivanja srca, bez obzira radi li se o konačnom terapijskom rješenju ili premoštenju vremena čekanja do transplantacije srca. Ipak, ovaj visokorizični kirurški zahvat ima brojne mogućnosti razvoja komplikacija. Jedna od najčešćih komplikacija jest razvoj infekcije. Da bi se pojava komplikacija svela na što nižu razinu te podigla opća kvaliteta skrbi, nužan je multidisciplinarni pristup u kojemu medicinska sestra ima značajnu ulogu, od pripreme pacijenta za zahvat do edukacije i prevencije.Prevencija infekcija kod bolesnika s dugotrajnom mehaničkom potporom radu srca uključuje mnogobrojne preventivne mjere u kojima je nužno djelovanje svih članova zdravstvenoga tima, ali i bolesnika i obitelji, kako bi terapijski uspjeh bio potpun.
Abstract (english)
Mechanical circulatory support system implantation is a common therapeutic option for patients with heart failure, whether it is a final therapeutic solution or bridging solution until a heart transplantation. However, this high-risk surgical procedure has numerous complications. One of the most common complication is development of an infection. In order to achieve lower level of complications and raise overall quality of care, a multidisciplinary approach is needed in which the nurse has a significant role in preparation the patient prior the procedure and also in training, education and prevention of infections afterwards. Prevention of infections in patients with long-term mechanical circulatory support includes a number of preventive measures that necessitate the work of all members of the health care team, as well as patients and their families, in order for the therapeutic success to be achieved.
