Abstract
Kvaliteta života predstavlja važan segment u bolesnika s upalnim bolestima crijeva (UBC). Iako je mukozno cijeljenje današnji terapijski cilj liječenja bolesnika s UBC-om, bolesnici i liječnici, sve veće težište stavljanju na kvalitetu života. Ipak, unatoč tomu, upotreba upitnika za procjenu kvalitete života, ali i samo pridavanje pozornosti kvaliteti života u svakodnevnoj kliničkoj praksi nije još u potpunosti zaživjelo. Indeksi kvalitete života dobro odražavaju trenutno stanje bolesti. Snižena kvaliteta života ima svoje negativne implikacije i može dovesti to češćih posjeta liječniku, pojačane dijagnostike, češćih hospitalizacija i većih troškova liječenja. Biološka terapija kao relativno nova, napredna, učinkovita terapija koja je u konstantnom razvoju dokazano utječe na kvalitetu života. U ovom radu opisane su studije koje su procjenjivale kvalitetu života kod bolesnika liječenih biološkom terapijom. Radi se o biološkoj terapiji infliksimabom, adalimumabom, golimumabom, vedolizumabom i ustekinumabom. Djelovanjem na kvalitetu života biološka terapija doprinosi osposobljavanju bolesnika za postizanje osobnog zadovoljstva, ne samo na razimni simptoma i aktivnosti bolesti, već posredno poboljšava psihosocijalni i emocionalni status, što predstavlja glavni preduvjet za ostvarivanje osobe kao ljudskog bića i stvaranje određenog doprinosa zajednici i društvu.
Abstract (english)
Quality of life is an important segment and treatment goal in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Although today’s therapeutic goal in IBD patients is mucosal healing, patients and physicians are increasingly focusing on achieving better quality of life. However, the use of questionnaires that assess quality of life and focus on improvement of quality of life in everyday clinical practice has not yet been fully achieved. Quality of life indices reflect considerably well the current state of the disease. Decreased quality of life has its negative implications and can lead to more frequent visits to physitians, increased diagnostic procedures, more frequent hospitalizations therefore and higher cost of treatment. Biological therapy as a relatively new, advanced, effective therapy that is in constant development has been proven to affect the quality of life. This paper describes studies that have assessed quality of life in patients treated with biological therapy. These biological therapies are infliximab, adalimumab, golimumab, vedolizumab and ustekinumab. By improving the quality of life, biological therapy helps patients to achieve personal satisfaction, reduce disease activity and indirectly improves psychosocial and emotional status of patient.
