Abstract
Radijalni (lateralni) epikondilitis (LE) odnosno “teniski lakat” kako se kolokvijalno naziva je često stanje vezano uz mišićno-koštani sustav. Može se javiti u sportaša ali i osoba drugih zanimanja kao u onih zaposlenih u građevini, industriji i drugdje. Bol se javlja u lateralnom predjelu lakta te se može pogoršati pri izvođenju dorzalne fleksije u ručnom zglobu i ekstenzije srednjeg prsta protivno otporu. Terapija laserom visokog intenziteta (HILT) je neinvazivna, bezbolna terapijska metoda koja se posljednjih desetak godina rabi u svrhu smanjenja boli i upale, kako kod LE, tako i kod drugih poremećaja lokomotornog sustava. Provedene su studije kojima je cilj usporediti ovu sa drugim terapijskim metodama kao što su poveska, ultrazvuk, laser niskog intenziteta, udarni val i TENS te zapravo ocijeniti kratkoročne i dugoročne učinke lasera visokog intenziteta u radijalnom epikondilitisu. Koristi se procjenjuju najčešće preko vizualno analogne skale (VAS), snage stiska izmjerene dinamometrom te upitnika koji se odnosi na stupanj nesposobnosti ruke, ramena i šake (DASH). Iako je HILT relativno novija metoda u fizikalnoj medicini i u uporabi je tek kraće vrijeme, rezultati provedenih studija jesu ohrabrujući i obećavajući.
Abstract (english)
Radial (lateral) epicondylitis (LE) or “tennis elbow” is a common condition of the musculoskeletal system. It can occur in athletes but also among the people working in construction, industry, etc. Pain usually occurs in the lateral part of the elbow, and it can be exacerbated by performing wrist or finger extension against resistance applied by the examiner. High intensity laser therapy (HILT) is a noninvasive, painless procedure that has been used in the last ten years or so as a method for pain and inflammation management in LE and other locomotor disorders. Studies that compare it to other clinical methods have been performed, such as lateral counterforce brace, ultrasound, low intensity laser therapy (LILT), ESWT and TENS with a goal to determine its short-term and long-term effectiveness in this condition. The benefits are most often evaluated by visual analogue scale (VAS), hand grip strength test measured with a dynamometer and Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) Score. Although HILT is relatively new in the field of Physical medicine and has been used for a short period of time, the results in the treatment of LE are definitely encouraging and promising.
