Abstract
Uz inovacije i brz napredak tehnologije, medicinski uređaji su trenutno jedna od najbrže rastućih industrija u svijetu. Poput lijekova i ostale zdravstvene tehnologije, neophodni su za skrb o pacijentu. Opasnosti koje potječu od medicinskih uređaja utječu na pacijente, članove obitelji i profesionalne njegovatelje. Skrb o pacijentu znači neposrednu sigurnost, sprječavanje posljedica rada uređaja poput električnog udara, ionizirajućeg zračenja, povrede, itd. Prema europskim smjernicama, odgovornost za smanjivanje rizika od neželjenih događaja, odnosno sigurnost pacijenta i rukovatelja je podijeljena između proizvođača medicinske opreme, korisnika i uprave zdravstvenih ustanova. Svrha rada je osvijestiti kulturu prijavljivanja pogrešaka i neželjenih događaja, otkrivati propuste i uklanjati uzroke, a ne optuživati pojedince.
Abstract (english)
With innovations and rapid advancement of technology, medical devices are currently one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Like medications and other health technologies, they are essential to patient care. The dangers arising from medical devices affect patients, family members and professional caregivers. Patient care means immediate safety, preventing consequences of the device operation, such as electric shock, ionizing radiation, injuries, etc. According to European guidelines, the responsibility for reducing the risks of adverse events or safety of patients and caregivers is divided between the manufacturer of medical equipment, users and institute's health administration. The purpose of this paper is to raise awareness of the culture of reporting adverse events, to uncover failures and remove causes of these failures, and not to accuse individuals.
