Abstract (english) Due to its anatomical position, the ear is exposed to the sun and UV radiation, which is a predisposing factor for the development of various cutaneous lesions. Thin skin, numerous sebaceous glands and sweat glands make it suitable for the development of more invasive forms of cutaneous tumors. Non-melanoma cutaneous tumors located in the ear area can be divided into epithelial and non-epithelial, and malignant and benign. The most common cutaneous tumors of the ear are seborrhoeic keratosis, actinic keratosis, basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. We investigated skin changes of the ear during 5 years at the Clinical Hospital Center in Zagreb. Among 147 subjects, 108 were men (73.47%) and 39 women (26.53%). Distributions by age have a similar peak incidence of cutaneous ear tumors, around age 80, with distribution in the female population taking on a bimodal character with a secondary peak incidence around 45 years. Most respondents were diagnosed with BCC (43 patients), PCC (31 patients), actinic keratosis (28 patients), keloid (13 patients), naevus naevocellularis (9 patients) and seborrhoeic keratosis (8 patients). Cryotherapy was used to treat 35 patients, 14 of whom had a relapse after completing the cryotherapy approach (28.57%). Of the 112 patients treated by excision, recurrence of the disease was reported in 10 (8.20%). Although the incidence of recurrence after a surgical approach is lower, each patient requires an individualized and interdisciplinary approach (dermatological, otorhinolaryngological, and surgical) to provide him the best possible care.
