Adrenocortical carcinoma is a rare malignancy with two peaks of incidence: in children younger than 5, and in adults in 4th and 5th decade of life. It is most commonly localized in the cortex of the adrenal gland. Clinical presentation can vary, depending on the hormonal activity of the tumour. When speaking of hormone secretion, the most common hormone secreted by ACCs is cortisol which consequently leads to Cushing syndrome. ENSAT classification is used in staging adrenocortical carcinomas. Prognosis varies significantly depending on the stage of disease at diagnosis. Diagnostic procedures include biochemical and patohistological methods: hormonal evaluation and Weiss score; and imaging methods such as CT (method of choice), MR and PET. Surgical treatment, laparoscopic or open adrenalectomy, is most commonly used in treating ACC. The goal of this thesis is to analyse methods of treating adrenal gland carcinoma recidives and their outcomes. Analysed data stems from 47 patients that were treated or are still receiving treatment at the Department of endocrinology of the Clinical Hospital Centre Zagreb. Of 47 patients, 16 were male (34,04%) and 31 female (65,96%). There’s 13 patients with recidives (27,66%), while 34 patients don’t suffer from recidives (72,34%). Thirty eight patients (80,85%) was diagnosed above the age of 40. Of 13 patients with recidives, three of them passed away as a consequence of the recidive (23,08%).
