Abstract
Trudnoća se može prekinuti medikamentozno i kirurški. Medikamentozni prekid trudnoće je postupak u kojem se trudnoća voljno prekida uporabom jednog ili više lijekova. Najčešće se za prekid trudnoće upotrebljava antiprogesteron mifepriston i analog prostaglandina mizoprostol. Osim toga, tamo gdje je mifepriston skup ili nedostupan, za medikamentozni prekid trudnoće može se koristiti mizoprostol kao monoterapija, ili protokoli s antimetabolitom metotreksatom ili inhibitorom aromataze letrizolom. Najčešće nuspojave medikamentoznog prekida trudnoće su bol, grčevi i krvarenje te gastrointestinalni simptomi poput proljeva i povraćanja. Prednosti medikamentoznog prekida trudnoće su to što je jednostavniji i jeftiniji u odnosu na kirurški, izbjegava korištenje anestezije i nije invazivan. Zbog svega toga, medikamentozni prekid trudnoće smajuje prepreke sigurom prekidu trudnoće i povećava njegovu dostupnost.
Abstract (english)
Pregnancy can be terminated medically and surgically. Medical termination of pregnancy is a procedure in which pregnancy is voluntarily terminated by the use of one or more drugs. Antiprogesterone mifepristone and prostaglandin analogue misoprostol are two most often used drugs for termination of pregnancy. In addition, where mifepristone is too expensive or unavailable, misoprostol as monotherapy, or protocols with the antimetabolite methotrexate or the aromatase inhibitor letrizol, can be used for medical termination of pregnancy. The most common side effects of medical termination of pregnancy are pain, cramps and bleeding, as well as gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhoea and vomiting. The advantages of medical termination of pregnancy are in its simplicity and price, being non-invasive, simpler and cheaper compared to surgery, avoiding the use of anesthesia. Because of all this, medical termination of pregnancy reduces the obstacles to safe termination of pregnancy and increases its availability.
