Method of medically assisted reproduction is most common and most important way of infertility treatment. The most used method of medically assisted reproduction is in vitro fertilization.Oocytes for IVFcan be obtained in a natural or stimulated cycle of women. Choice and protocols depend on the age of the couple, test results and previous treatments. Natural cycle can be a pure cycle without any medicaments and modified natural cycle. Stimulated cycles are devided into a mild stimulation and conventional, standard stimulation od ovulation. Complications of controled ovarian hyperstimulation include ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, increases frequency of multiple pregnacies, ectopic and heterotopic pregnancies, and possible development of malign formations of ovary and breasts , wich so far have not been confirmed. That is the reason why professional associations suggest mild protocols of stimulation and less embryos carried into uterus. The chioce of more mild protocols brings lower individual success compared to classical IVF, but the overall success in the courese of one year of treatment is the same.
