Judo is an Olympic sport and martial art originated in Japan in the late nineteenth century as a collection of selected techniques of other martial arts. Judo was founded by Jigoro Kano (1860th-1938th), and the beginning of judo in Croatia dates back to 1951 when it was established Collegiate Judo Club Mladost Zagreb. Judo is a sport that contains more than 1,500 techniques. Competition Judo is mostly based on throwing techniques (nage waza), which are divided into hand techniques (te-waza), throwing over the hip (koshi-waza) and foot techniques (ashi-waza). Judo consists of both techniques in the stalls (katame-waza) that are divided into holding (osaekomi-waza), suffocation (Shime-waza) and leverage on their hands (kansetsu-waza). Anthropological characteristics essential for judo are strength, coordination, speed, flexibility, cognitive, conative and functionalability. For them, depending on the organization of training may arise injuries that, since it is a martial sport, are rare. It's most commonly occurring in training and the leading ones are injuries of the upper and lower extremities. Of diseases and conditions that occur among judokas, the most common are fungal infection in his foot and scratches.
