Abstract | Cilj Cilj je istraživanja ispitati zadovoljstvo bolesnika dobivenom zdravstvenom skrbi, odnosom zdravstvenih djelatnika, smještajem, čistoćom i prehranom tijekom hospitalizacije. |
Abstract (english) | Objective The purpose of the study is to examine patient satisfaction with health care, relationship with health workers, accommodation, cleanliness and diet during hospitalization. Examinees and research method Examinees were patients hospitalized at Vinkovci public hospital. Selected be means of a convenience sample method, 120 patients took part in the study. The research tool used was a „HCAHPS Survey“. All questions were based on the Likert scale, with the exception of questions related to overall patient satisfaction with the hospital. Results There is a difference in patient satisfaction based on gender. Men are significantly more satisfied with the hospital diet when compared to women (P = 0,01). When asked about hospital recommendation, significantly more women would be willing to recommend the hospital to their family and friends (P = 0,007). There is also a difference in responses based on age. Examinees under 65 rate communication with nurses higher (P = 0,005), as well as the responsibility of health workers (P = 0,03) and better understand care instructions once released from hospital (P = 0,02) compared to those 65 and over. Older examinees, 65 years of age and older, rate the quiet hospital environment significantly better (P = 0,04). There are no statistically significant differences in patient satisfaction with regard to hospital admission, whether it is emergency admission or within a one-month period. There is a notable difference in findings based on the education level of examinees. Examinees with a higher education, at least university graduate level, were inclined to rate communication with nurses better in comparison to those with a lower education (P = 0,03), thus the understanding of required care following release from hospital is considerably weaker among examinees with a secondary education only or lower (P = 0,04) when compared to examinees with a higher level of education. Conclusion Examinees are satisfied with the received health care service, the relationship with healthcare workers, accommodation, cleanliness. They are not satisfied with the diet during hospitalization. |
