Abstract | Cilj istraživanja: Cilj ovog istraživanja je utvrditi kvalitetu sažetaka randomiziranih
CONOSORT-A smjernica.
naslov intervencije, cilj i status istraživanja stavke bez statistički značajne razlike s
saznanja. |
Abstract (english) | Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the quality of abstracts of randomized
controlled clinical trials in patients with ulcerative colitis and describe all treatment options
for ulcerative colitis.
Materials and methods: Abstracts of randomized controlled trials in patients with ulcerative
colitis, which are available on the PubMed database, were used in the preparation of this
thesis. It was written in the form of a cross-sectional study in which the quality of abstracts
was analyzed according to the CONSORT guidelines.
Results: A search of abstracts found 273 papers, of which, taking certain criteria into account,
136 were included in the present analysis. Not a single abstract contained all 17 items of the
CONSORT-A list, while more than half of the abstracts included at least half of the
CONSORT-A guideline's items. The items with the highest frequency have clearly stated
interventions (94,9%) and the goal (86,8%), while those with the lowest frequency are
participants, randomization, research status and source of funding. Comparing the frequency
of CONSORT items between abstracts whose research is multicenter or single-center, a
statistically significants difference with a value of p<0,05 was demonstrated for three items
(authors, research design and distribution of participants), while title, interventions, goal and
research status were items without statistical significance significant differences with a value
of p>0,05.
Conclusion: Taking into account the criteria of the CONSORT-A list, the abstracts on the
topic of ulcerative colitis that were discussed in this paper are of moderate quality. There is
clearly room for improvement in order to provide readers with summaries that are transparent
and provide new, credible insights. |
