Abstract
Cilj istraživanja ovoga diplomskoga rada jest iznošenje elementarnog uvida u infiltraciju gregorijanske umjetnosti u glazbeno mišljenje velikih skladateljskih ličnosti znamenitih za glazbu za instrumente s tipkama. Provedba kroz ključna razdoblja glazbene umjetnosti realizirana je prikazom biografskih podataka izabranih skladatelja od baroka do dvadesetoga stoljeća (Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Liszt i Olivier Messiaen). Uz smještanje u elementarni kontekst glazbenog vremena u kojem pojedini autor živi, osobiti naglasak stavljen je na utjecaj gregorijanskog repertoara na njegov skladateljski opus. Notni primjeri s opisima prikazuju tretman gregorijanske fraze u glazbenom jeziku pojedinog skladatelja, što olakšava shvaćanje arhitektonske uloge gregorijanskog elementa u stvaranju novog glazbenog djela.
Abstract (english)
The research purpose of this graduation paper is to outline the basic insights into the subject of Gregorian Chant music following the Middle Ages. The subject was observed and presented in the context of key periods in music history, aided by the presentation of biographical data of selected composers ranging from the Baroque up to the 20th century (Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Liszt and Olivier Messiaen). Aside from placing it into the fundamental musical context of a specific composer’s time, the paper puts special emphasis on the Gregorian repertoire’s influence on a specific composer’s oeuvre. Examples of musical notation with descriptions demonstrate how the Gregorian musical phrase was treated in the composers’ respective musical expressions, making it easier to understand the constructive role of a Gregorian element in the creation of new music pieces.
