Financial markets are very dynamic, although the business requires above all stability and diversity. Ensuring stability as well as diversity contributes to ensuring quality preconditions for good investment. A large number of investors, both in the world and in the Republic of Croatia, decide to pay their funds into shares. In particular, the investment is made in shares that pay dividends. In this way, investors can secur eadditional earnings, ie additional profit. In order for an individual, in this case an investor, to decide to invest in a particular stock, a very complex process goes through. Namely, it is necessary to know the profit, liquidity and investment of the company in which the investor would like to invest, ie in whose shares he would invest. The reason for this is the fact that a high dividend does not imply a quality share at the same time. The basic goal of this paper is to investigate dividends in the Republic of Croatia, ie the investment process, its risk and the importance of shares for the investor.
