Abstract
Tijekom posljednjih desetljeća uslijedila je ekonomska kriza i ekološka ograničenja za globalnu energetsku ekonomiju temeljenu na ugljikovodicima. Porast potražnje energije dovelo je do smanjenja kapaciteta fosilnih goriva što će posljedično ugroziti globalnu opskrbu energijom i dodatno opteretiti okoliš. Stoga, od vitalne važnosti je naći zamjenu za ugljikovodična goriva. Jedna od alternativa je vodik, koji ima nekoliko prednosti. Uporabom vodika stvara se fleksibilnost proizvodnji energije ostvarujući poveznicu fosilnih, nuklearnih i obnovljivih izvora energije i električne energije. Potencijal vodika zamjetan je za transformaciju izvora električne energije bez ugljika te se tijekom posljednjeg desetljeća pokreću razna istraživanja i razvojni programi kako bi se razvile nove integrirane tehnologije za upravljanje energijom iz obnovljivih izvora.
Abstract (english)
During the last decades, the economic crisis and environmental constraints for the global energy economy based on hydrocarbons followed. The increase in energy demand has led to a reduction in the capacity of fossil fuels, which will consequently threaten the global energy supply and further burden the environment. Therefore, it is vitally important to find a substitute for hydrocarbon fuels. One of the alternatives is hydrogen, which has several advantages. The use of hydrogen creates flexibility in energy production, achieving a link between fossil, nuclear and renewable sources of energy and electricity. The potential of hydrogen is noticeable for the transformation of carbon-free electricity sources, and during the last decade various research and development programs have been launched to develop new integrated technologies for the management of energy from renewable sources.
