A dynamometer is a device that serves to directly determine the force, or indirectly determine the total power and torque of the observed working machine. We measure the deformation using strain gauge. The increase in force intensity is proportional to the deformation of the strain gauge. The moment is reached indirectly through the deformation. Using the torque and the number of revolutions, it is possible to determine the power of the engine. Dynamometers are divided into three basic types: mechanical, hydrodynamic and elec tric. Mechanical dynamometers were evaluated as the most accurate with a deviation of ± 0.3% of torque. A mechanical dynamometer uses a lever and a spring. A dynamometer transmits force to a spring that is compressed or stretched. When using a dynamometer with a lever, the lever is deformed under the action of force, and the load and torque can be determined from it. The hydraulic dynamometer works on the principle of power dissipation in the liquid. It consists of an internal rotating rotor connected to the output shaft of the motor. The third type of dynamometers are electric, i.e. torque measuring devices that create resistance using eddy currents. Dynamometers that work on the principle of eddy currents will be discussed in this paper. The physical princ iple of their operation will be presented, the design of the dynamometer will be performed, and the method of torque measurement with the help of sensors and PLC will be presented. In order to be able to perform automatic measurement of torque, power and number of revolutions, it is necessary to create a control program (algorithm) that controls the operation of the PLC.
