Finances are one of the most important factors in the functioning of all companies. Finances serve to achieve certain set goals by collecting them and covering expenses for that purpose. The budget of regional (regional) self-government units is used for financing regional selfgovernment. Various levies and taxes prescribed and collected by the regional self-government are budget funds. Taxes that belong to the regional self-government unit, i.e. county, are inheritance and gift tax, road motor vehicle tax, boat tax and tax on slot machines. The main policy of the counties is to sustainably manage the budget with the sustainable development of their scope. Zadar County is located in the central part of Adriatic Croatia, i.e. Dalmatia. Its seat is the city of Zadar, and it consists of twenty municipalities and six cities. The aim of this paper is to show the way of budget planning and execution through the example of Zadar County, as a unit of regional (regional) self-government, which are the revenues and receipts of the county. Zadar County's income and receipts are higher for 2023, and the reason is the increase in tax income and income from administrative and administrative fees, fees according to special regulations and fees, income from the competent budget and from HZZO based on contractual obligations and fines. administrative measures and other revenues.
