Abstract
Wi-Fi je jedan od bežičnih mrežnih protokola baziran na skupini IEEE 802.11 standarda. Njegova glavna primjena je povezivanje bežičnih korisničkih uređaja sa krajnjim bežičnim pristupnim točkama lokalne mreže. Wi-Fi je predstavljen 1998. godine i do danas je postao jedan od najkorištenijih tehnologija. Wi-Fi najčešće radi u radio pojasu od 2.4GHz i 5GHz koji su unutar sebe podijeljeni na kanale. Napretkom tehnologije predstavlja se problem za podržavanjem rada sve više uređaja koji trebaju bežičnu vezu sa Internetom. Iz istog razloga potrebno je zaštiti mrežu od nedozvoljenih upada. Jednostavnije rješenje tome je upotreba RADIUS protokol koji kao standardiziran protokol služi za autentikaciju, autorizaciju i administraciju korisničkih profila iz jedne centraliziranje točke. Tema ovoga rada je korištenje oba protokola kao rješenje u izvođenju bežičnih mreža za pokrivanje većih površina, kao što je slučaj hotela, apartmana, aerodroma i slično.
Abstract (english)
Wi-Fi is one of the wireless network protocols based on group of IEEE 802.11 standards. Its main use is connecting user wireless device with local network’s wireless access point. WiFi has been introduced in 1998. and by today it has become one of the most recognizable technologies. Wi-Fi usually works in 2.4GHz and 5GHz radio bands, which are subdivided into channels. With technology advancement a problem arises with supporting more and more devices who need wireless connection to the Internet. From same reason it is necessary to protect network from unauthorized access. There is simple solution using RADIUS 2 protocol which is standardized protocol used for authentication, authorization, and accounting user accounts from single centralized spot. Subject of this assignment is using both protocols as a solution to covering larger areas with wireless network, for example in hotels, apartments, airports and similar.
