Abstract
U završnom radu analizirani su i interpretirani financijski pokazatelji i financijska izvješća deset uspješnih hrvatskih poduzeća s aspekta upravljanja kapitalom. Cilj rada je pokazati teorijske koncepte ali i praksu upravljanja strukturom kapitala u Hrvatskoj. Struktura kapitala pokazuje kako poduzeće financira svoje poslovanje, ulaganja i budući rast. Izbor strukture kapitala jedna je od najvažnijih odluka financijskog upravljanja. Postoje razne teorije strukture kapitala, ali dvije od njih su najzastupljenije: teorija izbora i teorija postupka slaganja. Optimalna kapitalna struktura poduzeća najbolja je kombinacija dužničkog i vlasničkog financiranja koja maksimizira tržišnu vrijednost poduzeća, a istovremeno smanjuje trošak kapitala. Vlasnički kapital, također poznat kao "neto vrijednost" definira se kao novac koji su dali vlasnici tvrtke. Dužnički kapital odnosi se na posuđeni novac, dan kao kredit za poslovanje, te se mora vratiti s kamatama.
Abstract (english)
This thesis contains the analysis and interpretation of financial indicators and financial reports of ten succesful Croatian companies. The aim of this paper is to show what are the most common concepts and practices of capital structure managment in Croatia. Capital structure refers to how company finances its operations, investments and future growth. Capital structure choice is one of the most important decisions of financial managment. There have been various capital structure theories, but two of them are most popular: the trade-off theory and pecking-order theory. Optimal capital structure of a company is the best mix of debt and equity financing that maximizes market value of a company while minimizing the cost of capital. Equity capital, also known as “net worth“ is defined as the money put up by owners of the company. Debt capital refers to borrowed money, given as a loan to the business, that it must be paid back with interest payments.
